Welcome to the BeeKeepers After School & Holiday Club service information page.

The BeeKeepers Club is registered with the City of York Council and provides places for 24 children from reception class up to Year 6.

The Club can accept up to 20 children under the age of 8.

The Staff/ Child ratio is 1:8 and there is a 1:6 ratio when walking from St. Oswalds School to Fulford Scout Hut. Within the walking bus system Children and Staff wear bright tabards for high visibility while walking.

BeeKeepers is also inspected by the Government Registered Inspectors Ofsted. First inspection July 2002, April 2004, June 2006 and recently June 2009. A detailed report can be viewed here.

Beekeepers Summer Holiday Play-scheme 2010.

 

WEEK 1.             NATIONALITIES OF THE WORLD.      
                                   
Come and make flags, costumes, taste foods from around the world, treasure hunts. Make tents to live in and help make a pretend campfire. Weather permitting a BBQ for lunch on the Friday.

WEEK 2.             CARDBOARD CITIES.

Select your prime garden plot to help us make a city with streets in the garden. Your large box may be a house, garage, shop. Through the week add modifications as required to complete the challenge.

WEEK 3.             PHOTOGRAPHY.

Come and have a go at making a photogram, take part in a photograph treasure hunt, make a pin hole camera and a picture frame to put your picture in.

WEEK 4.             GO KARTS.

Are you up to the challenge to design and make a go-kart in 5 days ?? If so, come and join the fun where can use real tools and equipment in safety.

WEEK 5.             PLASTER DISASTER.

Come and get plastered this week by taking plaster casts of your face, arms, legs etc. Stick them together and maybe make a model of yourself !!!!
                                   
WEEK 6.             SPACE.

Design a planet and make up a new language, food and costume. Make alien masks, try and make a pair of moon boots and a mode of transportation.

 

As well as all these activities you can also play board games, snooker, play in the sand tray, draw, use LEGO and K-NEX. The club offers a fully enclosed garden area for fun outdoor activities including a water slide and water fight but trips to the local park, cinema and Rowntree’s park will be on offer throughout the scheme.
